Cleanse Details

I am not a doctor. Nothing contained in this site is or should be considered or used as a substitute for professional medical or mental health advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

General Information:

You can make one drink to try, or do a 10-day cleanse, or a 30-day or even a 60-day cleanse! If you do a 10-day cleanse, you can repeat it after three weeks. Give yourself a month or two to stabilize before repeating a longer 30- or 60-day cleanse.

  • Drink three drinks a day.
  • Drink 100 ounces water to help detox and burn fat.
  • I take fish oils and calcium supplements daily as well.

The drinks should be about 20 ounces each. I make a big batch in the morning for breakfast and lunch, and then make a drink in the evening when I come home from work.

It is extremely important to have a high-powered blender. My favorite is the Vitamix 5200. Get free shipping by using my affiliate code! 06-009913 or click here.

In the drinks:

  • Liquids first (juice and/or water) {I use about three cups of liquid for a batch of two drinks}
  • One to two big handfuls spinach (or other dark leafy green)
  • One to two big handfuls kale (or other dark leafy green)
  • One banana per drink you are making
  • Frozen fruit (such as mango, pineapple, cherries, berry blends, strawberries, etc.)

Blend the above, then

  • add one scoop of protein powder per drink you are making and blend again to a smooth consistency.

You can choose any frozen fruit. My favorites are pineapple and mango. You can choose any protein powder that has 20 grams or more of protein per scoop.

During the second half of the cleanse, you can add herbs (like cilantro and parsley) and spices (like ginger and cocoa) and lemon juice for some extra variety and a detoxification boost.

When you feel like a treat, here are some options:

  • Freshly squeezed juice (orange, grapefruit, carrot, apple, etc.)
  • Zevia (Cream Soda is AWESOME)
  • Lemonade (one-half lemon is good for 20 ounces of water, plus 10 or so drops of Liquid Stevia, plain or flavored)
  • Coconut water (great for rehydrating and rebalancing electrolytes)
  • Avocado (especially important to eat if you lose more than 10 pounds in a week)
  • Herbal teas (avoid caffeine if possible)

It is important to do light activity while on the cleanse. I walk regularly, take the stairs, and do “basics”, which are just squats, push-ups (on my knees), and either crunches or “cobras” (like doing crunches but on your belly using your back muscles). Start slowly and build from there when you feel stronger.
